Milestone Reached! 1000 Subscribers in my Youtube Channel

Finally, thanks to viewers and subscribers to my channel. Just Another Dang How To Channel – a channel where I share how-to tech videos. A small milestone for me but super happy. It’s been a roller coaster ride reaching this milestone.

June 8, 2020

I started the channel way back Feb 2017 when Youtube didn’t have a strict Partner Program policy, you can upload videos and immediately earn from your videos. Then a few months after that, the policy changed to have at least 100,000 channel views for channel to be able to be monetized, I didnt meet the criteria and my channel got demonetized, I persevered, I kept sharing videos and eventually met the requirement.

But on Feb 2018 Youtube again changed policy which wiped out all small channels, new requirements were to have at least 1000 subscribers, and 4000 hours channel watch time for 365 days. I was gutted and lost interest. I abandoned the channel for several months but my watch time kept growing. Last year April 2019, I decided to revive it as my channel met the 4000 hours criteria. I had about 600 subs at that time. 1 year and 2 months later I finally reached 1000 subscribers.

My takeaway is to don’t give up and keep on persevering. Rome wasn’t built in a day. As of this writing, I am already now at 1004 subscribers and waiting for approval. Next goal up, get 2500 subscribers.

My Home Office

If you are going to freelance and want to work at home, you really need a private space so you can work efficiently. Early this year we had our room renovated, I was using our room for several years as an office and along with that are the irks that easily takes away your focus on you work like the TV, the kids, people coming in and out of the room, your stuffs keeps getting unorganize no matter how hard you try to keep them organize, always looking for something that you need but can never find it.

So when we had our room renovated, we have this closet room which is also the entrance to the bathroom which I also had renovated to be my office. I had the large built in cabinet removed and made space for my stuffs. Bought a USB wireless LAN so less cables and wires. Now all my things are a little bit more organized, I know where to find stuffs I need.

Financial Crisis affects on Adsense Publishers

I don’t normally get emails from Adsense and checking out the forums not much do too, I posted the message. Basically what this means for website owners who publishes Adsense needs to upgrade or provide more quality content for the ads will be more targetted. Sites MFA will likely be hit with this as well.

Freelance drought and surge

Before jumping into the freelance bandwagon, it is a fact to know that the income is not stable. Better be prepared to have some cash laid away maybe good for 1 or 2 months always. Sometimes you can find yourself in a drought for projects. Some projects doesn’t materialize due to many different factors like, client changes mind, no budget, etc. Occasionally on these periods you learn to adjust your rates to bag a project and end up getting a gig that you could have been paid better. Over quoting may loose the project on the other hand, most often times it is better to be sure to get the project. That is one drawback but think of it as a survival instinct to keep afloat of the unstable freelance times.

B2B Sites and Western Union Scam

There is a growing scam that even the internet savvy may fall victim to. I’m in need of a chip reseter for a particular toner model. I Googled it and ended up at Alibaba.com for companies selling chip reseters. This chip reseter for the toner model is very rare and I saw only three companies selling them. In short there is a low niche for this market.

Just another dang blog!

About a million blog sites out there, and here I am coming up with my own. I’m not trying to be different but actually joining the fad. Everyone is blogging just about anything under the sun and they get their piece of revenue from displaying ads on their blog. I’m not a good blogger or a writer but I want to be. I figured if I keep blogging I’ll get better and maybe I’ll become more creative with what I write.

So here it is, my first post. I took a shot of the Google mail I got for the PIN since I figured it’s time to cash in from the previous ad revenues I earned through the years and blog about it. I was actually putting ads on several sites I made but never tried it on a blog site. If you signed up for Google Adsense, the first $10 you earn from ad revenues, Google will mail you the PIN that you will need to activate the payment option on Google adsense.
